Virtual Surgery :: Biomechanical Analysis

NIKI has applied the knowledge derived from digital engineering, for the generation of a new computational protype mathematical simulation of the whole femur, with and without implant, including the hip and the upper part of the femur's epiphysis.

Von Misses stress on the femur

Thus the stresses mesh can be displayed as realistic as possible, considering the musclular strain beyond the knee and the muscles allocation round the hip. Research achieved the modeling of the cartilage’s viscosity level between hip’s epiphysis and the hip, in addition to the hip’s and femur’s elastic deformability based on a realistic geometry of the hip’s epiphysis.

Parametrization for bone-endoprosthesis complex

The new method is expected to perform a more natural insertion of the stress contribution, mainly for a ‘reference femur’, considering previous effords.
